Word of the night... Unlucky!!
After a very promising start in the singles, which ended 9-2 to East Williamston it all went a bit haywire after that, with bowls just not ending up where they looked like they were going to!! The pairs struggled to get the length on a very fast mat, the threes had a slow start with only 1 shot on the board for the majority of the match and sadly ran out of ends as they started to pull it back and the same fate lay in wait for the fours. Singles W 9 - 2 Doubles L 3 - 11 Threes L 5 - 11 Fours L 3 - 7 Overall result: Loss to East Williamston 2-8 with 20 shots to their 31.

Wow, what a night of bowls!! A night where not a lot went right other than East Williamston managed to secure the win! The mat seemed to be running very fast which caught a lot out on the night.
A tough start in the singles but we managed to claw our way back in the doubles, winning by one shot. The triples looked stronger winning by 5 shots and the Fours scraped ahead at the end by 2 shots. Singles L 2-14 Doubles W 9-8 Triples W 10-5 Fours W 8-6 Overall End result a win of 8 - 2 with 29 shots to 33 East Williamston were at home for this week's Friendly League match against St. Johns.
We put on a strong performance winning the Singles, Doubles and Triples. The Fours decided to make it a nail biter until the last couple of ends but sadly didn't come away with their points. The end result, a win to East Williamston with 8 - 2 and 37 shots vs 17 Well played everybody! The team had a tough fixture against Skrinkle tonight, playing on a mat which clearly had a mind of its own!
With only the Fours securing a win the end result was: Lost 2 - 8 with 12 shots vs 40 East Williamston secured the win in our home Friendly League match against Lamphey tonight.
Lamphey put up a fight, with a draw in the Singles and a win in the Triples. However good wins, by East Williamston, in the Doubles and the Fours secured the overall win. The end result 7 - 3 with 31 shots vs 16 Well played everybody! |
