The random draw led to a lopsided competition as the last two winners of the singles were paired together unsurprisingly resulting in victory!! Congratulations to Alan who made a final in only his second tournament.
There was a hugely popular winner of the Club Singles tournament for 2019/20 on 6th August as Gwyneth Beynon defeated ten other entrants to take the title. A very enjoyable evening with a good standard of singles play all round.
Mark, Chris and Norman Hogg (from St Johns SMBC) travelled to Llansamlet SMBC near Swansea on July 28th 2019 to take part in their Open Triples competition. After losing the opening game to the eventual winners from Rhydlewis SMBC in Cardiganshire, the team won their next five games. Although just missing out on qualifying for the main knockout on shots difference they then managed to reach the Plate final before losing to an English team of county players from Gloster Knights.
Mark and Chris travelled up to Cardigan Indoor Bowls Club to take part in the Margaret Evans Memorial 3 wood Open Pairs Competition organised by the Cardiganshire Short Mat Bowls Association. Against strong competition from across South and West Wales Mark and Chris eventually made it through to the Plate Competition final where they defeated a pair from North Cardigan to win the trophy.
The above competition took place at Heatherton on Sunday 10th March 2019. The East Williamston team of Phil, Colin, Gwyneth and Chris successfully negotiated a group containing two Letterston Rinks, and one each from The Badgers, Penally and Freystrop to finish second and qualify for the semi-finals.
Against the eventual winners from The Meads, East Williamston led by 9-7 going in to the final end. Unfortunately they were unable to keep the count against them down and lost the match 10-9.
Still, yet another strong performance from the club's representatives in County competition.
Five East Williamston players took part in this Open tournament at Heatherton on Sunday 3rd February 2019. Despite strong opposition from all over Wales, the three of Mandy, Chris and Mark managed to finish in third place winning £30 in prize money. (Who said you could never make it rich playing short mat bowls!! )
The Winners: (from L to R) Andy Jones (Skip), Aled Humphreys (Lead) and Jac Edwards (Second) from Montgomery

In the Quarter Finals they defeated the defending champions from Penally before letting slip a lead in the Semi-Final against John James and Hazel Wadey from The Badgers.
